About Our Client

Our client is a well-established industrial manufacturing company with a strong reputation for quality, innovation, and operational excellence. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their maintenance team at their Richmond Hill facility on the night shift.

This opportunity is ideal for a mechanically inclined professional who enjoys troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Shift Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 5:00 PM – 3:30 AM
Bi-weekly weekend work scheduled in advance.

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, installing, replacing, and troubleshooting mechanical systems and production equipment within a manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will play a key role in minimizing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and supporting ongoing production operations.

Key Responsibilities

Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform immediate repairs when required.
Perform preventative and scheduled maintenance on production equipment.
Inspect, install, repair, replace, and adjust mechanical equipment throughout the facility.
Assist with equipment overhauls and new equipment installations.
Generate parts requests and support maintenance inventory requirements.
Complete maintenance work orders and maintain accurate maintenance records.
Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings.
Identify equipment failures and determine the most effective repair methods to minimize production interruptions.
Communicate outstanding maintenance issues and equipment concerns to supervisors and management.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of experience in an industrial maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, or similar role.
Industrial Millwright (433A) certification is considered a strong asset.
Candidates with strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience are encouraged to apply.
Experience performing preventative maintenance and equipment repairs.
Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Basic computer skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Preferred Qualifications

Welding experience.
Experience working with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Experience in a 5S, lean manufacturing, or continuous improvement environment.

Additional Requirements

Must be willing to work a permanent night shift schedule.
Must be able to reliably commute to Richmond Hill or relocate prior to starting employment.
Must be available for overtime and occasional scheduled weekend work as required.
