Why this role is important?
Reporting directly to the Sr. Director, Store Development, the incumbent manages a team, provides direction and oversees planogram development, store communication and Operations at the Lab Store in Scarborough.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead the Space Planning function. Directly oversee seven Space Planning Specialists, set priorities and standards, manage performance, hire when necessary, and are accountable for the quality and timeliness of the team’s output.
Own the planogram operating calendar. Responsible for the planogram schedule from development through launch—timelines, inventory readiness, walkthroughs, releases, delists/exit strategies, issue resolution and compliance.
Coordinate across the organization. This is a highly cross-functional Director role. Working with Category VPs, Visual Merchandising, Store Operations, inventory/supply-chain stakeholders, Store Development, consultants and executives.
Continuous Improvement. New initiatives, strategic opportunities, standards, imaginative solutions and changing the direction/effectiveness of the unit.
Connect merchandising strategy to store execution. The end product isn't simply a technically correct planogram. It's getting assortment, space, inventory and merchandising decisions translated into something stores can actually execute.

Experience

Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in merchandising, business, marketing or equivalent experience.

Minimum 5 years experience working in a retail environment.

Minimum 2 years project management.
Education

Post secondary education equivalent to a University Degree in Business, Retail Management, Merchandising or related discipline.
