Full job description

Patisserie Fleur is a French pasty shop located in Markham that specializes in cakes, desserts and specialty drinks. We are searching for an experienced Assistant Baker to join our team at our Scarborough bakery. The ideal candidate has a positive attitude, is passionate about the food and beverage industry and enjoys working with people. You will complete day to day production needs and producing products for sale at our retail location. You will need to be an individual who can work well in a team setting as well as have the ability to complete tasks on your own. You must be familiar with all baking equipment and rudimentary baking techniques.

Job Summary

Assist with the daily production of cakes, pastries, and desserts.
Prepare, weigh, and portion ingredients according to recipes and production schedules.
Assemble and finish products while following company quality and presentation standards.
Assist with basic decorating and garnishing as directed.
Package and label finished products for distribution.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary production workspace.
Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety procedures.
Restock ingredients and supplies and assist with inventory organization.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
Work collaboratively with the production team to meet daily production targets and deadlines.
Ensure consistency, accuracy, and attention to detail in all products.
Perform general cleaning, dishwashing, and equipment sanitation duties.
Assist with additional production tasks as assigned in a fast-paced commercial kitchen.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

Previous experience in a commercial kitchen, bakery, or food production environment.
Ability to follow recipes, production instructions, and standard operating procedures accurately.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality and consistency.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Good time management and organizational skills.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Able to lift and carry up to 25 kg (55 lbs).
Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
Flexible to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn.

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
