Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Hydrovac Operator to join our construction and excavation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating hydrovac trucks and various heavy equipment to perform excavation, potholing, and utility locating tasks safely and efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of construction site operations, mechanical systems, and heavy machinery. The Hydrovac Operator plays a vital role in ensuring project accuracy and safety while supporting various infrastructure projects. Must be able to provide a letter of experience with minimum 3 years experience driving heavy truck

Duties

Operate hydrovac trucks for excavation, potholing, and utility locating with precision and safety protocols.
Utilize heavy equipment such as dozers, excavators, loaders, backhoes, graders, and pavers to support construction activities.
Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment including Caterpillar machinery to ensure optimal performance.
Assist with horizontal drilling operations and other excavation-related tasks as needed.
Conduct site assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Collaborate with team members to execute project plans efficiently while adhering to safety regulations.
Maintain detailed records of work performed, equipment used, and site conditions throughout each project.

Requirements

Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and pavers.
Mechanical knowledge of construction machinery and hydraulic systems.
Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred for transportation of equipment or materials.
Experience with horizontal drilling and other underground utility installation techniques is a plus.
Strong understanding of construction safety standards and procedures.
Ability to operate Caterpillar machinery confidently and efficiently.
Knowledge of excavation techniques including hydrovac operations and potholing methods.
Prior experience in construction or heavy equipment operation is highly desirable.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety awareness. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects utilizing advanced heavy machinery in a dynamic construction environment. Candidates must demonstrate mechanical aptitude, operational expertise, and a commitment to safety standards to succeed in this role.

Pay: $40.00-$42.00 per hour
