Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Senior Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and performing maintenance and repairs. This position requires a high level of expertise in diagnosing and resolving complex mechanical issues.

Responsibilities:

Perform preventative maintenance, service, and repairs on a variety of pump equipment and vehicles both in the shop and on active construction sites.
Inspect, diagnose, and repair systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
Respond to service calls as required, including some after-hours and weekend emergency calls.
Keep all equipment and vehicle fleet in safe, reliable working order and maintained in a clean, presentable condition in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
Troubleshoot and diagnose simple mechanical equipment issues remotely with customers or operators to minimize downtime.
Complete and manage tasks through the company’s document management system, including work orders, service reports, inspection checklists, and referencing equipment manuals.
Accurately record parts usage, labor hours, and repair details to ensure proper documentation and inventory control.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment always, adhering strictly to company health and safety policies and procedures.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and customers regarding equipment status, repair timelines, and preventative maintenance recommendations.
Assist with equipment inspections, safety audits, and continuous improvement initiatives as required.

Job Qualifications: Education, Certification, Technical Skills, Soft Skills

High school diploma or equivalent; trade school, apprenticeship, or Red Seal certification preferred
2–5 years as a mechanic, technician, or similar repair/maintenance role
Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems knowledge; ability to read schematics and manuals.
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Basic computer skills for service reporting
Safety-conscious with strong attention to detail
Reliable, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks
Good communication and customer service skills
Physically fit for manual work and lifting as required
