Chocolate Production Assistant – Part-TimeJob Overview
Amelie’s Chocolate & Patisserie Inc. is looking for a reliable, organized, and detail-oriented Part-Time Chocolate Production Assistant to join our small-batch chocolate production team.
The successful candidate will assist with the preparation, moulding, filling, decorating, packaging, and labelling of chocolate products. The position also includes cleaning and sanitizing production equipment, organizing ingredients and packaging materials, and maintaining a clean and food-safe production environment.
Please note that our chocolate production kitchen is maintained at a cool, temperature-controlled setting to protect product quality. Applicants must be comfortable working in a cool environment throughout their shifts.
Applicants must have at least one year of professional experience in a kitchen, bakery, pastry kitchen, chocolate production facility, or another relevant food-production environment. Training specific to our chocolate products and production methods will be provided.
Students and recent graduates from baking, pastry arts, bakery, or chocolate-making programs are welcome to apply, provided they meet the experience and certification requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and production of chocolate products
- Help with chocolate moulding, filling, decorating, and finishing
- Measure, weigh, and organize ingredients according to recipes and production instructions
- Follow recipes, portion requirements, and production procedures carefully
- Package, label, and prepare finished products for sale, storage, or shipment
- Inspect finished products to ensure quality, consistency, and proper presentation
- Wash and sanitize tools, chocolate moulds, equipment, containers, and work surfaces
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized production area
- Follow all food-safety, personal hygiene, sanitation, and allergen-control procedures
- Receive, organize, and move ingredients, chocolate boxes, and packaging supplies
- Assist with inventory counts and restocking production materials
- Report product-quality, ingredient, equipment, or food-safety concerns promptly
- Perform other related chocolate-production, packaging, and kitchen duties as required
Required Qualifications
- A valid Ontario Food Handler Certificate is required
- At least one year of professional experience in a kitchen, bakery, pastry kitchen, chocolate production facility, or another relevant food-production environment is required
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
- Must be available to work occasional weekend shifts based on production needs
- Must be comfortable working in a cool, temperature-controlled production kitchen
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English and understand workplace, food-safety, recipe, and production instructions
- Must be reliable, punctual, organized, and attentive to detail
- Must be able to follow recipes and production instructions accurately
- Must be comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team
- Must be comfortable standing for extended periods and performing repetitive production and packaging tasks
- Must be able to occasionally lift and move boxes weighing up to 20 kg (44 lb), with assistance or appropriate equipment when needed
- Must be willing to follow all personal hygiene requirements and wear required food-production attire, including a hair covering and apron
- Experience with chocolate production, baking, pastry, confectionery, food preparation, or food packaging is an asset

Position Details

Pay: $17.95 per hour
