About Us:Glamour Pets is a mobile pet grooming business that has been serving the Greater Toronto Area since 1999. We are a small family owned business with a positive work environment and great customers. Glamour Pets is adding members to our team.As a mobile company we move throughout the city to see our customers. The majority of our customers are located within the regions of Markham, Vaughan, and North York. Usually we meet our employees near the subway stop closest to the neighborhood where we will be that day. Appointments are available Monday thru Friday. Our first customer of the day expects us to be ready for them at 8am. We call it a day when we have completed all the scheduled grooming appointments we have booked. The day is usually over by 630pm but sometimes we run late. All for the love of pets.
This position is listed as part time/full time. We know how many shifts we have to fill, and we are open to hiring the appropriate combination people to fill them. We expect a minimum of two full day shifts per week from part time employees. Full time employees typically work a full schedule in 4 days. Since we are closed most weekends, the majority of these shifts will take place Monday thru Friday only.
Expectations: The preferred candidate will have a G class driver's license and at least 2 years of driving experience. Immediately after hiring, the candidate will spend most of their time working with pets in the van. As a trainee you will start out mostly bathing and drying dogs. We will add skills to your skill-set as appropriate. You will learn how everything operates up close. As time progresses, additional tasks may be added such as shuttling dogs to and from the van by car, and/or possible admin tasks. Grooming is a labour intensive job, and there is always something to do. Experiencing it all is enlightening and rewarding. We are a small and friendly team. We treat one another like family. This intensity makes the hours fly by, and before you know it the work day will be over and you will be on your way home.
What You Need to Know:The dogs will look cuter than you at the end of the day! I’m sorry. You will be covered with fur, splashed with water, and at some point your shoes will step in something that will follow you for the rest of the day. At the same time, you will be covered in dog kisses, forced to cuddle a dog at random times, and have at least a dog nose or two nuzzle your hand for more than their share of attention.Unfortunately there are many individuals in our industry that find themselves taken advantage of.
