Full job description

Serano Bakery is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Specialized European Baker to join our growing team.

We are seeking someone with strong hands on experience in a Greek or European bakery environment. This is a specialized position requiring knowledge and techniques that are specific to traditional European baking and pastry production.

The ideal candidate must be experienced not only in cake baking and decorating, but also in working with delicate phyllo dough, traditional Greek pies, and specialized European desserts.

This is not an entry level role. Experience in a Greek or European bakery is required.

Responsibilities Include:

Preparation and production of traditional Greek and European pastries and desserts
Skilled handling and stretching of delicate phyllo dough
Production of traditional pies including spanakopita, tiropita, bougatsa, galaktoboureko, and other European specialty pies
Cake baking, finishing, decorating, and pastry presentation
Decorating and finishing specialty desserts and pastries
Portioning, cutting, and quality control of baked products
Monitoring consistency, appearance, and freshness of all products
Following traditional European baking methods and recipes
Preparing fillings, creams, syrups, custards, and specialty dessert components
Maintaining cleanliness and organization of bakery workstations
Working efficiently in a fast paced bakery production environment
Assisting with inventory control and minimizing product waste
Ensuring all products meet company quality standards before packaging or display

Requirements:

Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in a Greek or European bakery
Strong experience with phyllo based products and European pastries
Experience with traditional Greek desserts is a major asset
Skilled in cake decorating and pastry finishing
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Attention to detail and strong product consistency
Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays if needed
Passion for traditional European baking and pastry craftsmanship

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, values quality, and understands the importance of authentic European baking traditions.

Competitive pay will be based on experience.
