Personal Support Worker - Markham, ON - CAD$162.00/week

Description

About the Client:

We're seeking a compassionate caregiver for a client in Woodbine who uses a walker and needs support with daily activities. The client values independence while requiring assistance with mobility, personal care, and household tasks. They appreciate caregivers who are calm, patient, reliable, and bring positive energy to each visit. Clear communication and taking initiative are important qualities for this role.

Responsibilities:

Provide mobility assistance for a client who uses a walker or wheelchair
Support with bathing and dressing as needed
Prepare full meals and provide feeding support
Light housekeeping and tidying
Encourage independence while ensuring safety and comfort
Maintain consistent communication about the client's needs and any changes

What We're Looking For:

The ideal caregiver is someone who makes the client feel comfortable and respected. You should be calm under pressure, patient with varying needs, and able to work independently while taking initiative when situations require it. Experience with mobility assistance and personal care is essential. You must be reliable and consistent, as the client is looking for a dependable presence they can count on. Strong communication skills are necessary to coordinate care effectively. The client values caregivers who respect their independence and dignity while providing the support they need.

Schedule:

This is a part-time position requiring visits on alternating Saturdays from late morning to early afternoon, approximately 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The schedule runs through early January, as the client will be traveling to Mexico in mid-January and returning in April. We're looking for someone who can commit to this regular biweekly schedule and provide consistent, quality care during each visit.

The position is located in the Woodbine area near Finch Boulevard South and Islington, easily accessible by public transit. This is an excellent opportunity for a caregiver who values building a meaningful relationship with their client while maintaining a flexible part-time schedule.
