Electrical Project Manager

Vickery Technical Services is seeking an experienced and motivated Electrical Project Manager to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing electrical construction andservice projects from inception to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
About the Role
As an Electrical Project Manager, you will work closely with clients, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and field teams to ensure successful project execution. This position requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, along with a solid understanding of electrical systems and construction processes.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Accountable for overall project execution, budgeting, and scheduling
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and work plans
- Ensure work is completed in compliance with drawings, specifications, quality standards, and Health & Safety policies
- Review and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings
- Procure equipment and materials according to project specifications and timelines
- Monitor project progress against milestones and proactively address delays or challenges
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Negotiate and manage change orders and contract modifications
- Manage project documentation including contracts, RFIs, submittals, and close-out documents
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and resolve issues
- Coordinate communication with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Support Forepersons and field teams by ensuring they have the resources needed for success
- Review and negotiate supplier and subcontractor agreements
- Ensure compliance with Ontario Electrical Code, applicable regulations, and company standards
- Manage project closeout to ensure all documentation is accurate and complete
Leadership
- Lead and mentor project teams to maintain productivity, accountability, and quality
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment
- Attend and facilitate project meetings including award, startup, progress, and close-out meetings
- Ensure adherence to company quality control standards
- Support implementation of the company Health & Safety program through strong leadership
- Ensure preconstruction activities are completed efficiently, including shop drawings, purchase orders, and material coordination
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical project management
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction practices, and Ontario Electrical Code
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with project management software
- PMP certification is considered an asset
- Valid driver’s license required
- Railway experience an asset
