Prepress Technician is responsible to output all the approved artworks to print production using PackZ software and DFE on HP Indigo Printers.
Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Prepress Technician to join our innovative printing and manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing digital files for production, ensuring color accuracy, and optimizing layouts to meet high-quality standards. Your expertise will help streamline the transition from design to print, supporting our commitment to delivering exceptional print advertising, packaging, and promotional materials. Duties
- Works with the HP Indigo 20000/25000 press operator(s) on matters involving quality and scheduling.
- Review and interpret digital design files, ensuring they meet specifications for print production
- Conduct color management processes to achieve accurate color reproduction across various substrates and printing methods
- Prepare files using Adobe Creative Suite tools, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, for seamless printing workflows
- Collaborate with graphic designers and production teams to troubleshoot file issues and optimize layouts for efficiency
- Operate and maintain prepress equipment such as CNC machines, flexo presses, and other manufacturing tools
- Perform quality control checks on digital proofs and printed materials to ensure consistency and adherence to client standards
- Manage workflow schedules, prioritize tasks, and coordinate with production teams for timely delivery
Experience
- Proven experience in prepress operations within a commercial printing or manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of screen printing techniques and flexo press operations
- Expertise in color management systems and understanding of typography, layout design, and print advertising standards
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) is essential
- Familiarity with CNC machining, machining processes, and the use of forklifts in a manufacturing setting is a plus
- Ability to perform quality control inspections with keen attention to detail
- Experience working with manufacturing equipment such as CNC machines or flexo presses is highly desirable
