Full job description

Are you a passionate leader with experience in children, youth, and recreation programming?

We are looking for a dynamic and dedicated CKL Children’s Services Lead Supervisor to provide leadership for our Authorized Recreation Programs across the City of Kawartha Lakes, with primary responsibility for the Lindsay site, including After School, Full Day, and Summer Camp programs.

About the Role

Based primarily at our Lindsay location, this leadership role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, supporting and developing staff teams, ensuring exceptional program quality, and creating safe, engaging, and inclusive experiences for children and families. In this role, you will be supported and guided by our CKL-Children’s Services Senior Team.

Key Responsibilities

Lead daily operations of After School, Full Day, and Summer Camp programs.
Supervise, coach, and support staff, volunteers, and placement students.
Ensure safe, inclusive, and engaging program environments.
Coordinate staffing schedules and maintain program continuity.
Support program planning, implementation, and continuous improvement.
Build positive relationships with children, families, staff, and community partners.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies, licensing requirements, and safety standards.
Monitor attendance, documentation, and reporting requirements.

Qualifications

Preferred post-secondary education in Recreation, Child & Youth Care, Early Childhood Education, Education, Social Work, Social Services, or a related field preferred.
Current Standard First Aid & CPR-C certification or willingness to obtain.
HIGH FIVE certification or willingness to obtain.
Class F License or willingness to acquire.
Must be able to provide a Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening in accordance with the Police Record Checks Reform Act (PRCRA). Experience leading programs for children and youth and supervising staff teams.
Align with core values, mission, vision, and a commitment to confidentiality and privacy.
Ability to facilitate/supervise activities.
Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Compensation and Benefits:

Full-time, permanent position
35–40 hours per week (primarily Monday to Friday)
Hourly wage: $20.26 - $21.40
