TFS currently has an exciting permanent opportunity as a Business Data Analyst – Sales & Marketing in the Business Analytics Department. This role reports to the Business Analytics Supervisor and resides in our Markham Head Office.
This role will provide dedicated analytics support to our Sales & Marketing division, helping to drive data-driven decisions that improve sales performance, marketing campaign effectiveness, customer engagement, and dealer performance. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Sales & Marketing leaders and teams, to deliver timely insights and advanced reporting solutions and ensure alignment with enterprise data standards and strategy.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Sales & Marketing Performance Analysis
- Manage the full spectrum of marketing analytics, including campaign tracking, performance dashboards, and funnel analysis.
- Lead efforts to maintain a comprehensive and accurate view of marketing performance across demand generation segments and channels, focusing on identifying actionable or predictive insights to optimize campaigns and achieve growth targets.
- Design and analyze A/B tests to support data-driven experimentation and optimization.
- Customer & Dealer Insights
- Leverage data to uncover trends in customer behavior, dealer performance, product penetration, and regional sales trends.
- Translate these insights into recommendations for targeted marketing strategies, improved customer retention, and dealer network development.
- Dashboard & Reporting Development
- Design, build, and maintain advanced Tableau dashboards and reports for the Sales & Marketing department, using data from the Enterprise Data Platform (Snowflake) as the single source of truth. Example outputs include campaign ROI dashboards, sales and market share analyses, sales performance reports, and dealer scorecards to support daily decision-making by Sales & Marketing leaders.
- Ensure that reports are visually clear, accurate, and aligned with corporate data definitions and KPIs.
- Present clear, actionable performance insights to leadership through compelling data storytelling.
- Serve as the go-to analytics resource for the Sales & Marketing team.
- Respond promptly to ad-hoc requests for data or analysis (e.g., identifying which customer segments responded best to a recent promotion, or providing a quick sales forecast for a new product launch).
- Deliver timely, well-explained insights to support business decisions, product launches, promotions, and campaign adjustments.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with the central Business Analytics team and other functions as needed.
- Work under the mentorship of the Senior Data & Insights Analyst to incorporate advanced models or new data sources for complex analyses (for example, feeding Sales & Marketing requirements into enterprise predictive models for customer lifetime value or sales forecasting).
- Ensure that all analyses and metrics for Sales & Marketing are consistent with enterprise-wide standards.
- Coordinate with Finance (for alignment on incentive budgets and profitability targets) and with other departments (e.g. Risk or Business Operations) when Sales & Marketing data intersects with broader company initiatives.
- Training & Data Enablement
- Help foster a data-driven culture across the organization.
- Help leaders and colleagues in Sales & Marketing understand and utilize the available reports and data tools.
- Train team members to interpret metrics and leverage self-service analytics (e.g., basic Tableau functions or SQL queries) for their daily management needs.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making in Sales & Marketing teams by making data accessible and understandable.
- Cross‑Functional Coverage & Business Continuity
- Provide backup analytical support and coverage for Business Operations and other departments as needed, ensuring continuity of reporting, insights, and decision support during peak periods, absences, or shifting priorities.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field; strong blend of business acumen and analytical training.
- 3-5 years of experience in business analytics, BI, or data analysis roles, supporting Sales, Marketing, Pricing, or customer analytics functions.
- Experience in the financial services or captive finance industry (especially automotive finance) is preferred.
- Proven track record of exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights that inform business decisions, including analysis of marketing campaigns, sales performance, pricing effectiveness, and customer trends.
- Strong SQL proficiency and experience working in modern data warehouse environments (e.g., Snowflake or similar).
- Advanced Excel skills for analysis and ad‑hoc reporting.
- Hands‑on experience building reports and interactive dashboards using Tableau (preferred), with solid understanding of data visualization best practices and data storytelling.
- Strong understanding of sales and marketing concepts and KPIs (e.g., sales, market share, retention, incentives, ROI), with the ability to link insights to revenue growth and market share.
- Excellent communication skills with experience working cross‑functionally (Finance, Risk, IT, Credit, Compliance), presenting insights clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders in fast‑paced environments.
- Proactive, team‑oriented problem solver capable of managing multiple priorities, working independently when needed, and continuously learning new tools and analytical techniques.
