The Role:
We’re looking for an Part time - Art Instructor who can step into the classroom and make learning fun, engaging, and easy to understand. This role is part-time (mostly weekends, plus possible weekday evenings from 4–7 PM), with room to grow into more hours and responsibilities, especially during March break, Winter break and Summer break for camps.
You’ll be teaching, but also gradually helping with planning classes, organizing projects, and keeping the studio running smoothly.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Teaching drawing and painting to kids of different ages
- Breaking down techniques into simple, clear steps kids can follow
- Creating a fun, relaxed, and encouraging class environment
- Helping plan lessons and camp activities
- Keeping the studio clean, organized, and well-stocked
- Supporting our growing library of art projects
Seasonal Commitment:
During summer break, March break, and winter break, we run full-day art camps, and this role will include additional daytime camp hours during those periods. This position naturally shifts with the studio schedule throughout the year, offering more hours during school breaks and camps.
Who You Are:
- Strong in drawing and painting (you don’t have to be “fine art serious,” but you need solid skills)
- Great with kids — patient, friendly, and able to connect with different personalities
- Able to explain things simply and clearly
- Positive, energetic, and not afraid to be a little playful in class
- Highly punctual, reliable, and accountable — you show up on time, prepared, and ready to teach
- Comfortable working independently and running classes on your own when needed
- Organized and responsible behind the scenes
- Interested in growing with the studio over time
A Quick Note About the Role:
This position is meant to grow. We’re looking for someone who can eventually take on more — from planning classes to helping with studio operations and ideas.
We’ll start with a short trial period (about a month) focused on teaching, because that’s the most important part.
Compensation:
- Starting hourly rate (based on experience)
- Opportunity for more hours and increased pay as you grow into the role and able to teach larger age range of students
Schedule:
- Weekends (required)
- Optional weekday evenings (4:00–7:00 PM)
- Additional hours during camp seasons (summer, March break, winter break)
