We are hiring a Distribution/ Warehouse Manager to lead day-to-day operations. This role involves overseeing distribution and warehouse activities, managing a team, and maintaining smooth, efficient processes. The ideal candidate will bring solid leadership skills, hands-on experience with improving processes and an interest in supply chain management.

Responsibilities

Reporting to senior leadership, responsible for managing warehouse and distribution operations.
Leads the warehouse team's efforts to maximize productivity across shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
Provides leadership and direction to warehouse staff, including workload planning, task delegation, training, and performance evaluation.
Maintains day-to-day operations in line with organizational goals.
Ensures all orders are picked, packed, and shipped accurately and on time.
Oversees all incoming shipments and receiving processes.
Analyzes outbound freight costs and negotiates third-party freight contracts.
Ensures quality assurance and standard operating procedures are followed.
Coordinates with other departments and management to keep warehouse operations running efficiently.
Plans and organizes warehouse space and workflow for maximum efficiency.
Develops and maintains best-practice distribution processes, including documentation and reporting for management review.
Creates or updates internal policies and procedures as needed.
Oversees delivery schedules for outgoing merchandise.
Ensures regular and spot-check inventory counts are completed accurately.
Maintains accurate operational records and logs.
Coordinates with regulatory or compliance staff on applicable industry requirements.
Manages inventory control procedures, including handling changes to stored materials.
Negotiates shipping rates with couriers and transportation providers.
Identifies and evaluates new transportation providers and third-party logistics (3PL) partners, and helps shape overall logistics strategy.
Carries out initiatives directed by senior leadership.
Works with management to ensure freight, material, inventory carrying, and purchasing costs stay within budget.
Oversees secure storage and handling of any regulated products on-site, in coordination with compliance staff.
Trains staff on relevant regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Implements standard operating procedures related to regulated products.
Oversees facility management, including security, maintenance, and supplies.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in warehouse, distribution, or supply chain management, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Post-secondary education in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Proven experience managing shipping, receiving, and inventory control processes in a fast-paced environment.
Strong track record of negotiating freight and courier contracts, and managing relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers.
Experience developing and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best-practice workflows.
Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements in a relevant industry (e.g., natural products/ health and wellness supplements) and experience working with regulated or controlled goods considered an asset.
Strong leadership and team management skills, including staff training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Proficiency with inventory management and warehouse management systems (WMS).
Strong analytical skills with experience preparing reports and cost analyses for senior management.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively across departments and with external partners.
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
