Speech Language Pathologist - Independent Contractor

Pay: CA$65.00-CA$100.00 per hour

Job description:

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Independent Contractor, Flexible Hours available

LOCATION: Greater Toronto Area, Primarily in-person community-based therapy, with virtual option when appropriate.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Experience working with children and young adults. Experience working with a wide range of exceptionalities, including but not limited to, Autism Spectrum Disorder, neurodevelopmental conditions, learning difficulties, physical and behaviour challenges is heavily favoured.

We are seeking an experienced Speech Languare Pathologist to join our team of professionals to provide services to children and young adults requiring additional support to engage in their day-to-day lives.

As an Independent Contractor, therapists will have the opportunity to be autonomous with their scheduling and clinical decisions while having the support of a close knit team of experienced professionals. Candidates dictate their own caseload, with the flexibility to take on what fits their schedule.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assess client needs to determine strengths and objectives
Design individual intervention plans in conjunction with the interdisciplinary team and families
Plan, organize and conduct occupational therapy sessions using a play-based approach when appropriate, adapting approaches to meet the behavioural, sensory and social needs of the client
Provide direct treatment and consultation both individually and in small groups
Complete and maintain records in accordance with CASLPO standards
Contribute to the integrated team model by collaborating with clinicians from across disciplines
Keep current with trends in the field by participating in professional development opportunities
Follow all Willow OT Health and Safety policies including COVID 19 protocols

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Currently registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO), in good standing or working on a provisional license.
Available to commute for home and community based sessions in the Greater Toronto Area
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement: treatment, at the child’s home and/or the community; and family coaching/training
Experience in working as part of an interdisciplinary team
Strong interpersonal skills that support collaboration
Effectively communicate verbally and in writing
Commitment to evidence-informed practice
Ability to provide education and consultation to pre-school and school teachers
‘Clear” Vulnerable Sector and Police Record Check & First Aid Training
