Technical Operations Lead

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT MAY NOT BE LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
Technical Leadership & Installation Operations
- Ensure projects are compliant with applicable Canadian Electrical Codes, utility requirements, manufacturer specifications, and industry standards.
- Review and audit as-built installation packages for project closeout.
- Troubleshoot technical issues, support commissioning activities, and provide field solutions.
- Collaborate with engineering on technical reviews, design layouts, and installation feasibility.
- Provide ongoing coaching and training on our service products, installation standards, and quality expectations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for technical customer inquiries and installation-related escalations.
Installer Network & Field Operations
- Coordinate with subcontractors and Xolar partners throughout the project lifecycle.
- Onboard and manage the installer network while evaluating key performance indicators.
- Review labour costs, installer pricing, and installation complexity to support operational efficiency and profitability.
Project Coordination
- Collaborate and communicate closely with internal teams to ensure projects progress efficiently while delivering seamless customer experience.
- Maintain accurate project updates within the CRM, spreadsheets, and project management systems.
- Proactively identify and resolve project risks, delays, scheduling conflicts, and missing information or equipment.
- Develop and improve processes, technical documentation, installer resources, and operational best practices.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Licensed Electrician (equivalent provincial certification).
- 5+ years of electrical installation experience.
- Previous experience leading or coordinating installation teams.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and the Canadian Electrical Code.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, spreadsheets, and project management software.
- A working home office setup with a reliable computer, internet, and phone.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with solar PV, battery storage, and related energy systems.
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Knowledge of the solar energy industry and related regulations.
- Previous experience working in a remote role is an advantage.
