With a staff of 14,000, the TCDSB is a dynamic school board and is seeking one (1) full-time Pension Clerk within the Benefits & Compensation department.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two (2)-year College Diploma in Business Administration or related field/equivalent
- Minimum one (1) year pension administration, OMERS preferred
- Proven mathematical and analytical skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites (such as EXCEL, Word, Access etc.) and database applications
- SAP HR/Payroll system an asset
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure in a deadline-oriented environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
DUTIES:
Reporting to and under the direction of Supervisor of Benefits, the primary function of this position is to facilitate the administration of the OMERS pension plan in accordance with legislated regulations and Board policies and procedures, and perform related functional activities by:
- Facilitating and processing OMERS enrolment, termination, disability, and retirement life cycle events
- Calculating cost for pension service buy back
- Calculating and adjusting pension credits for employees as required
- Processing collection of monthly contributions, reconciliation, and remittance to OMERS
- Conducting scheduled payroll audits and reconciliation of payroll deductions
- Calculating and processing monthly OMERS remittance within limited time frame to avoid late penalty charges
- Validating pension contributions, pensionable earnings and credited service for bi-weekly payroll runs by analyzing payroll clusters, remuneration statements and reports
- Identifying discrepancies in contributions, pensionable earnings, and credited service on SAP
- Assisting with the testing of configuration changes
- Responding to OMERS and/or plan members enquiries by investigating and analyzing information through researching historical records and data
- Processing year-end audits and reconciliation with OMERS, investigating, and rectifying any discrepancies as required (Form 119)
- Scheduling and prioritizing reporting activities to meet legal reporting requirements (e.g., T4s)
- Using the OMERS e-access online administrative tool for administration of the OMERS pension plan; changes are required both on SAP and OMERS e-access
- Responding to enquiries regarding OMERS and group benefits information
- Facilitating the distribution of annual pension statements
- Assisting with departmental projects/peak workload as required
- Conducting retirement meetings with members
- Performing other duties as assigned or required
