CWB Level 1 – QC Inspector | Fall Turnaround

Engrity Group Inc. is a COR and ISO 9001:2015 Certified Inspection Organization, with the facilities, resources, and expertise to provide a complete range of inspection services. Engrity has been providing high-quality inspection services to the satisfaction of our clients since 2011.

We are currently looking for CWB Level 1 – QC Inspectors with piping and mechanical inspection experience to support an upcoming Fall Turnaround beginning September 1, 2026.

Responsibilities

Ensure all stages of the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) are followed and complied with throughout the project.
Read and interpret piping isometrics, General Arrangement (GA) drawings, P&IDs, and other engineering drawings.
Apply knowledge of applicable ASME, ABSA, CSA, CWB, and project-specific codes, standards, and specifications.
Perform material receiving inspections and verify materials against drawings, specifications, and material documentation.
Maintain and verify welder qualification records and ensure qualified welders are assigned to applicable welding activities.
Monitor welding activities and perform final visual inspection of completed welds.
Perform piping system punch inspections and verify completion of required items prior to hydrotesting.
Witness hydrostatic testing and verify test requirements are met.
Perform final piping reinstatement inspections and witness applicable bolt torque activities.
Complete and maintain weld mapping and verify as-built drawings and documentation.
Perform welding, fabrication, piping, and mechanical inspections in accordance with applicable project requirements.
Assist with the preparation, review, and completion of hydrotest packages.
Identify, document, and follow up on deficiencies, non-conformances, and outstanding punch-list items.
Complete daily inspection reports, inspection documentation, and turnover records accurately and within required timelines.
Coordinate with contractors, client representatives, engineers, and other inspection personnel to ensure quality requirements are met.
Support the project team during the Fall Turnaround and work effectively within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Follow all company, client, site, HSE, and quality requirements throughout the assignment.

Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Engineering, or a related technical discipline is preferred.
CWB Level 1 certification with approximately 2–3 years of relevant industry experience.
Previous piping, mechanical, welding, fabrication, or QC inspection experience is preferred.
Experience working in turnaround, shutdown, maintenance, or construction environments is strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of quality inspection procedures, inspection tools, equipment, and documentation requirements.
Ability to read and interpret piping isometrics, GA drawings, P&IDs, weld maps, and as-built drawings.
Working knowledge of applicable ASME, ABSA, CSA, CWB, and project-specific codes and standards.
Strong time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple inspection activities and priorities.
Good computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and electronic inspection/reporting systems.
Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently in a high-pressure, deadline-driven turnaround environment.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Ability to work safely and effectively within an active turnaround site environment.
Must be available to support the Fall Turnaround commencing September 1, 2026.
Must be willing to work extended hours, overtime, and turnaround schedules as required by the project.

Job Types: Fixed term contract, Casual

Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour

Edmonton, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
