Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Woodworking Finisher to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying finishes, stains, and protective coatings to wood products, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. This role requires a strong understanding of woodworking processes, mechanical knowledge, and proficiency with various tools and equipment. The Woodworking Finisher plays a vital part in delivering finished products that meet our quality standards and client expectations.

Responsibilities

Apply stains, paints, varnishes, and sealants to wood surfaces using brushes, spray equipment, or hand tools
Prepare surfaces by sanding, cleaning, and masking to ensure smooth finishes
Operate machinery such as sanders and spray booths safely and efficiently
Use hand tools and power tools for detailed finishing work and touch-ups
Maintain a clean and organized work area to adhere to safety standards
Inspect finished products for quality, consistency, and defects before packaging or delivery
Collaborate with assembly and machining teams to ensure seamless workflow
Follow safety protocols related to the use of equipment forklifts and other manufacturing machinery

Requirements

Mechanical knowledge of woodworking machinery and finishing techniques
Experience with hand tools, power tools, and spray finishing tools
Basic math skills for measurements and calculations during finishing processes
Prior experience in manufacturing or assembly environments is desirable
Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control
Ability to work safely with various equipment including power tools and welding apparatus
Good communication skills and ability to follow detailed instructions
Ability to interpret plans to ensure wood fixtures are accurate prior to completing finish
