Summary
We are looking for a driven and committed candidate who exhibits enthusiasm for performing accounting activities and can elevate the role to the next level by thinking out of the box and applying analytical and strategic thinking. This position will be integral to a passionate and dynamic team that values growth, innovation, and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a positive experience for internal and external customers. Responsible for playing an integral role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the overall business.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable, including payment application and customer account follow-up.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and other general ledger accounts.
- Prepare and post journal entries and support month- end and year-end close.
- Prepare month-end schedules, working papers, and reports.
- Responsible for ensuring the financial and accounting policies and procedures are followed and comply with accounting principles.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales tax filing, including corporate tax payments.
- Liaise with Finance Team members and other department staff to complete required duties.

- All tasks must be completed safely in compliance with regulatory and legislative guidelines and company health and safety policies and procedures.

- To constantly challenge the current methods and techniques in a controlled manner that will provide a superior, more efficient, and improved result.
Other Essential Tasks
- Provide year-end support.
- Additional tasks as requested.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience required performing the job:
- Post-secondary education in an accounting or business program or equivalent applicable experience. Accounting designation is an asset.
- 1– 3 years of previous experience in general accounting
- Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Excel
- Customer service oriented, possess tact and judgment in dealing with complex and demanding customers.
- Respond to tight deadlines during regular and peak periods and to last-minute demands and requirements.
- Ability to multi-task, organize, detail-oriented, and prioritize tasks.
- Strong judgment and decision-making ability.
- Possess analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with little supervision.
