Full job description

We are a general dental office in Comox BC, and are looking for an administrative assistant to join our dental family. This position offers a wide variety of duties and daily tasks and is a dynamic administrative role. If you are someone who enjoys multitasking, staying busy and working with a great team this could be a perfect position for you! We value our patients and are looking for an administrator that will make them feel welcomed and comfortable in the office as well as on the phone.

We offer competitive wages based on experience as well as dental benefits, clothing allowance, team functions, team vacations and a supportive workplace environment. Although experience is preferred, it is not necessary, and we are willing to train someone who is eager to learn and grow.

Duties Include:
- Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage patient inquiries
- Maintain patient records and update electronic medical records system
- Assist with insurance verification and billing processes
- Coordinate referrals to specialists and follow up on patient care
- Manage front desk operations, including appointment reminders and patient check-in/out
- Provide administrative support to healthcare providers and staff

Experience:
- Previous experience working in a medical or dental office setting
- Proficiency in using phone systems and handling multiple phone lines
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems (RecallMax) and dental software (ClearDent)
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining patient records
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
