Scotia Recycling Limited, is seeking a Baler Operator to join our facility in Dartmouth.
Reporting to the Facility Supervisor, the Baler Operator will use the mobile equipment to move baled and loose product around the plant, move and stack/un-stack bales and load/unload trailers and containers. This position is also responsible for maintaining the warehouse, ensuring bales are properly stacked. Loading trailers and containers to weight and/or specificity of the customer. They must also be able to complete shipping/receiving reports working in coordination with scale office.
Responsibilities:
- Work in a safe and efficient manner and strive to increase production.
- Must be able to sort and move products and materials by hand or with material handling equipment in an efficient and careful manner.
- Must be aware of surroundings and be alert.
- Visual inspections and responsible to report any deficiencies, damage with equipment including pre-shift reports on mobile equipment.
- Perform QAs on baled product to ensure SRL quality standards are met.
- Work the baler panel when required.
- Enter production data into the SRL tracking system.
- Troubleshoot issues that arise on the baler with guided SOPs and support from the Maintenance team.
- Report all incidents/accidents and illnesses immediately to a supervisor.
- Must wear required PPE and adhere to all safety regulations and policies/procedures.
- Must follow operating procedures for mobile equipment.
- Must keep work area tidy and clean (no clutter).
- Takes a positive approach to work assignments and treats co-workers, customers and management with tact and respect.
- Must follow all company Policies and Regulations.
- All other duties assigned by the supervisor that are safe and reasonable.
- Must be comfortable working in a weather climates, including warehouse environments that are exposed to dust and debris.

- Gloves
- Safety glasses (CSA approved)
