SI Oilfield Hauling Ltd. is seeking a Transportation General Manager to lead operations at our location based in Bay Tree, AB. This role is responsible for providing full-site leadership within a dedicated hauling environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong operational leadership, financial acumen, and demonstrated experience managing drivers, fleet operations, and customer relationships.
Job Description & Responsibilities
This role will manage the daily activities of all transportation functions, while working to maximize the weekly, monthly, and annual performance of the Company by providing leadership by focusing on customer requirements, labor management, freight optimization, equipment allocation, positive workforce motivation and individual development.
· Ensure customer contract requirements are administered and enforced.
· Ensure a safe, secure, clean and fair work environment for drivers
· Actively participates in the applicant hiring and termination process. Interviews and screens applicants to identify qualified candidates, appropriately explains job content and performance expectations to applicants, and provides hiring and termination recommendations.
· Maintains a viable relationship with truck drivers and customers to ensure needs are met at all times.
· Ensures all trucks are routinely serviced, registered, and inspected and that all decals are maintained, as required and in accordance with established health and safety checklists. Establishes and monitors system of vehicle safety checks.
· Implement associate performance reviews, individual development plans and succession plans.
· Ensure company policies are communicated, administered, and enforced (i.e., accounting, operational, regulatory, and administrative).
· Take an active leadership role in managing turnover to an appropriate level
· Ensure associates and supervisory staff have proper access to the necessary tools to perform their assigned duties and that the tools are routinely accounted for and adequately maintained.
· Oversee execution of shop action plans, projects and best practice sharing / implementation.
· Develop/achieve budget(s), revenue, profit (P&L) for site, and review agreed upon budgets with clients.
· Follow established Customer Billing, as well as ensure all drivers and operators are properly trained in creation/submission of invoices to customer.
· Develop/achieve the annual operating plan and goals
· Monitor service levels and customer satisfaction to ensure performance meets customer contractual requirements. Report on performance measures.
· Lead and provide direction to site workload planning and volume forecasting (i.e., staffing, equipment, space).
· Maintains equipment records and employee files
· Responsible for developing a culture of safety among all direct reports by serving as a role model of professionalism, appearance, confidentiality, courtesy, conduct, honesty, fairness, personal integrity, and respect for the fundamental rights, dignity and privacy of others
· Performs other related duties as assigned or as necessary. Remains flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments as defined by operational needs.
· Ensure that confidentiality of data collected and stored are maintained.
· Employee must demonstrate safe work and risk management practices. Communicate and enforce all safety and security issues. Report and process all employee and/or customer incidents or unsafe acts in accordance with SI Oilfield Hauling’s policies and procedures.
Required Education and Experience
· 2-3 years logistics industry experience, required
· 7-10 years experience in supervisory/management role, required
- Proven experience leading an Oilfield and Heavy Haul operation is required.
- Experience managing, developing, and supporting a driver workforce is required. Proven record of taking initiative and responsibility, both individually and as a member of a team
- Computer Knowledge including Microsoft Office and internet browsers
- Ability to function in a high-stress environment and ability to deal with a variety of issues in different situations.
- Solid judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Mechanical aptitude and understanding of truck maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting

Pay: $120,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
