Laundry Attendant – Part-time

The Arbutus Club has been a landmark in Vancouver since 1964. Today, we are a modern recreation complex with first class food and beverage services. Our vast range of facilities and programs, coupled with unparalleled service, have earned us a reputation as one of Canada’s finest premier Private Clubs.

We are looking for a Part-time Laundry Attendant with availability to work evening shifts up to 1:00 AM (or as assigned) up to twenty (20) hours per week. Must have availability for weekends, holidays and on-call shifts.

Duties & Responsibilities

Sort, classify, and process soiled towels, linens, uniforms, and other miscellaneous clothing and janitorial items.
Load items into washers or machines while applying proper cleaning agents.
Deliver and stock clean towels while lifting and carrying heavy loads up and down several flights of stairs.
Operate and maintain the quality and cleanliness of workspace and equipment.
Perform other relevant departmental duties as assigned by Management.

Requirements & Qualifications

Minimum of two (2) years previous laundry work experience preferably on commercial laundry.
Able to work independently and in a team environment
Ability to handle heavy workload, including lifting and transporting soiled towel bins, distributing clean laundry throughout the Club, and loading/unloading commercial washers and dryers.
Must be able to fold towels, linens and other items
Able to stand, walk, and stretch for long periods of time.
Must be able to perform the full range of tasks and responsibilities as required by the position.
Demonstrate a keen interest in delivering excellent service to Members, Guests, and Staff
