Overview

MCL Power Inc., a large Edmonton based electrical company, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Administrator/Safety Coordinator to assist our project team in the Edmonton area.

This position is responsible for providing administrative and safety support to ensure the efficient and compliant operation of construction projects. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate records, supporting site leadership, and ensuring all safety documentation and reporting requirements are met in accordance with company policies and applicable legislation.

This position is an excellent opportunity for a newly designated or aspiring NCSO to gain practical, hands-on experience in a construction environment while developing both administrative and safety coordination skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Administrative Support:

Provide day-to-day administrative support to site leadership and project teams
Update, maintain and create all spreadsheets required by the management team
Ensure workload is appropriately managed; seek further tasks when existing tasks are completed in full
Assist the Project Manager and site management in creating, formatting and copying project-related items
Access information from a computer and/or maintain a computer database
Coordinate communication between site and office to ensure alignment on project needs
Perform basic management of electronic files

Safety Documentation & Compliance:

Maintain and organize all site safety documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness
Assist in the implementation and administration of the company safety program on site
Track and file safety-related documents including inspections, FLHAs, toolbox talks, incident reports, and orientations
Monitor compliance with Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) requirements and company policies
Provide administrative support to the HSE Manager as required

Qualifications:

Previous experience in a construction site administration or project coordination role is preferred
Strong understanding of construction documentation and administrative processes
Experience with safety documentation and reporting in a construction environment is considered an asset
NCSO (National Construction Safety Officer) designation or working towards the designation is preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management software (e.g., Procore)
Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced site environment
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
