FRONT OF HOUSE COORDINATOR
Reporting to the Director of Hospitality, as part of the Events and Experience Team, the Front of House Coordinator will be responsible for providing exceptional customer care to support The GrandWay Event Centre. The Coordinator will oversee the Food and Beverage servers and will perform customer care duties ensuring that the guests have a pleasant dining and enjoyable experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- As part of the Events and Experience team this role will manage – hiring, scheduling, onboarding, training, and performance management of the serving team
- Prepare and maintain operating procedures for front of house team
- Lead by example with a client facing approach to service and onsite team oversight
- Respond to any guest comments and address questions and concerns
- Work collaboratively with the back of house in event delivery and planning
- Expedite food service for events
- Delegate tasks daily to ensure smooth delivery of events with exceptional customer service
- Maintain working knowledge of menu items, both food and beverage, with a focus on product offering and dietary constraints
- Cost, order, stock and maintain beverage offerings
- Take shared responsibility for the overall look and feel of the location, including but not limited too organization and cleanliness
QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILL SET
- Post Secondary Diploma in Hospitality Management or related discipline would be an asset
- 2+ years of related work experience in a Food and Beverage/restaurant capacity.
- 2+ years of supervisory work experience and demonstrated ability to lead and direct a team would be an asset
- Smart Serve and Food Handlers certification
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving, supervisory and leadership skills.
- Must have a flexible work schedule, availability for days, evenings and weekends
- Experience in all aspects of customer service, people management, coaching and mentoring
- Strong planning, coordination, organizational, cash handling and administrative skills.
- Ability to foster effective working relationships through a positive team attitude with superiors, peers, subordinates, and guests
- Professional and high standards of personal appearance, hygiene, and etiquette
- Computer literate with MS Office applications and POS experience
