What You’ll Do:
- Diagnose and repair vehicles using diagnostic tools to identify issues and perform necessary repairs, maintenance, and part replacements. Operate buses for testing and diagnostics as needed.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance, including CVIP inspections. Maintain accurate service records and manage parts procurement.
- Collaborate with technicians, management, and drivers to meet shop priorities and schedules. Follow all safety, environmental, and HR procedures in line with OH&S and inspection standards.
- Keep a clean, safe workspace and communicate effectively with the team. Support apprentice training, suggest training needs, and attend required company programs.
- Utilize diagnostic software such as Cummins INSITE, Voith, WABCO and OEM-specific programs to identify and resolve faults.
- Complete work orders, maintenance records, and inspection reports accurately and in a timely manner.
- Respond to road calls and perform on-site repairs when required.
- What We’re Looking For:
- Journeyperson Technician Certification (Commercial Transport, Automotive Service or Heavy Duty)
- 4th year apprentices writing their Red Seal exam soon may be considered
- 2–5 years of related experience, including exposure to working as a Journeyperson Mechanic
- A valid Class 5 driver’s license with an air brake endorsement, and no more than 3 demerit points on your record.
- Strong analytical problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent Health & Safety Knowledge, particularly OH&S rules and regulations guidelines, with a keen eye for detail
- Employment is contingent upon receiving a favorable background check and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening
- Bonus Points if You Have:
- Certification in Vehicle Conversion (CNG or CNG/LPG) is a strong asset
- A CVIP (Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program) License is an asset
- Prior experience maintaining transit vehicles or a large fleet is an asset
- Previous experience in WFA is considered an asset
