Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Deli Associate to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing a variety of deli foods, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service and food handling, with a strong focus on sanitation, safety, and customer satisfaction. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in food preparation, cashiering, and upselling within a dynamic retail setting.

Responsibilities

Prepare and assemble deli items according to company standards, ensuring quality and presentation.
Operate POS systems such as Micros POS for accurate cash handling and transactions.
Assist customers with their selections, answer questions about products, and provide exceptional customer service.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area, adhering to food safety standards.
Manage time effectively to serve customers efficiently during busy periods.
Upsell products to enhance customer experience and increase sales opportunities.
Handle cash transactions accurately and balance register at the end of shifts.
Follow all food handling procedures to ensure safety and compliance with health regulations.
Restock shelves and display cases as needed to ensure product availability.

Skills

Experience in food preparation, food service, or restaurant environments is preferred.
Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS or similar cash register technology.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and courteously.
Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy.
Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during peak hours.
Ability to upsell products tactfully to enhance sales while providing a positive shopping experience.
Kitchen or food industry experience is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00-$17.00 per hour
