Overview

Modern Komfort is seeking a team-oriented, dependable, and service-driven Customer Experience Specialist to join our Fredericton team. This role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service both in-store and online while creating a welcoming and rewarding shopping experience for every customer.

The successful candidate will help customers select products, process purchases, maintain the showroom, receive and manage inventory, and support online customer inquiries and orders. This position may occasionally assist with opening or closing the store.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is seeking 24 to 37.5 hours of work per week and is available to work five days per week, Monday through Saturday, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. *The specific days and hours worked may vary according to the weekly schedule. The candidate is a friendly, dependable team player who takes initiative, enjoys helping others, and is committed to creating an exceptional customer experience. Organization, attention to detail, and the ability to balance multiple priorities are key in succeeding in this role. Strong computer and technology skills are required and experience with social media platforms are considered a strong asset.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers in a warm, engaging, and professional manner.
Learn about customers’ needs and help them select suitable products.
Develop and maintain strong knowledge of Modern Komfort’s products and services in order to provide accurate information about product features, materials, styling, pricing, availability, care, warranties, and after-sales services.
Place and coordinate online orders with prompt and clear communication between vendors, warehouses, freight partners and clients.
Resolve order issues, delivery questions, or product concerns with a positive, solutions first approach.
Analyze customer feedback and provide insights to improve service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Collaborate with team members to resolve complex issues and enhance overall service quality.
Maintain knowledge of company policies, procedures, and product offerings to provide informed support.

Showroom and Merchandising

Help arrange showroom displays and update pricing, signage, and product information as required.
Keep racks, shelves, and the sales floor organized, presentable, and adequately stocked.
Maintain a clean, tidy, and welcoming store environment.
Notify management when products or operating supplies need to be reordered.
Help maintain an organized stockroom, packing area, and sample collection.

Inventory and Operations

Receive deliveries and inspect products for damage, accuracy, and completeness.
Unpack merchandise, break down skids and boxes, and organize incoming inventory.
Tag and price new products accurately.
Assist with entering and updating inventory in the store’s online and point-of-sale systems.
Assist with opening or closing procedures

Working Environment and Physical Requirements

Work is performed primarily in a retail showroom environment.
The position requires extended periods of standing, walking, lifting and computer related work.
Regular bending, reaching, unpacking, and moving of merchandise is required.
The employee must be able to lift and carry smaller merchandise independently and assist with heavier or oversized products using appropriate equipment or team-lifting practices.

QualificationsEducation and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent.
1-3 years previous experience in retail, customer service, sales, home furnishings, or a related environment is preferred.
Experience with point-of-sale and inventory systems is considered an asset.
Interest in furniture, home décor, or interior design is considered an asset.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities.
Warm, professional, and confident communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and math skills.
Ability to manage multiple customers, priorities, and tasks in a busy retail environment.
Dependable, organized, resourceful, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Comfortable using email, web-based tools, Microsoft Office, and retail technology
Experience with Shopify and Shopify related apps is considered an asset.
Willingness to receive feedback, learn new processes, and contribute wherever needed.
