Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyperson Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrical systems, with the ability to read blueprints and schematics, and have hands-on experience with both low voltage and high voltage systems. This role requires a commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team on various construction and renovation projects.

Wage to be re-assessed at the end of probationary period.

Duties

Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential.
Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine the layout of electrical systems.
Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for installation and repair tasks.
Troubleshoot electrical issues using programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other diagnostic tools.
Ensure compliance with local electrical codes and safety regulations during all work performed.
Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction projects to ensure timely completion of tasks.
Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to identify potential issues before they become problematic.
Provide maintenance person services as needed for various renovation projects.

Qualifications

Proven experience as an electrician, Canadian Journeyperson Certificate.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including low voltage applications.
Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and safety equipment related to electrical work.
Experience with construction practices and renovation processes is highly desirable.
Ability to work independently while also being an effective team player.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
