Full job description

Hensall Co-op is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to become an integral member of our Quality team! The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for supporting the implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of quality-related systems, technologies, and programs within the Food Products Division. The ideal candidate for this role will have excellent data management skills and experience with a variety of quality related technologies. This is a full-time position.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot quality-related equipment, automated grading systems, and associated software
Support rollout, implementation and continuous improvement of quality and grading systems
Train receiving, probe, and grading staff on proper equipment operation and best practices
Provide remote and in-person technical support to quality and operational staff
Analyze quality and grading data accuracy against manual grading standards
Document and audit the collecting of production and shipping samples
Assist with calibration, testing, and optimization of quality and grading programs
Run product samples through equipment to support programming, improvement, and system refinement
Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
Develop and maintain troubleshooting guides, SOPs, training materials, and technical documentation
Participate in quality investigations, product evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives
Collaborate with QA, operations, and development teams
Track issues, resolutions, and performance trends to support continuous improvement initiatives
Assist in project coordination and completion activities related to automated grading expansion
Understand and follow all Hensall Co-op Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures
All other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

Knowledge of agricultural commodities, grain grading, pulse crops, or related agricultural quality systems
Excellent customer service skills to communicate with Hensall Co-op customers
Strong computer skills including proficiency in MS Suite, specifically in Excel
High attention to detail and analytical thinking skills
Ability to learn and adapt to proprietary technology systems
Comfortable working independently and managing many priorities at once
Proficiency with computers and technical software systems
Experience in agricultural quality control, grading, seed, grain, or pulse operations
Experience with automated inspection systems, machine vision systems or laboratory equipment is preferred
Experience with data analysis and process improvement initiatives is preferred
Experience developing SOPs and training materials preferred
Technical support or systems implementation experience preferred

Required Qualifications:

High-school diploma
Experience in an agricultural setting is an asset
Valid G Driver’s license
