POSITION SUMMARY
Muskoka Bay Resort requires an energetic, motivated and career-minded shipping & receiving assistant who is willing to work and support all departments on the resort with various task related to the job description.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
General Tasks

Support the Shipping & Receiving Coordinator and act as a lead in their absence.

Review all incoming invoices and check that the product has been received in its entirety.

Ensure that the relevant department is informed when goods are received and is delivered in a timely manner.

Ensure that delivery vehicles are properly organized to allow the free flow of traffic in the loading area.

Report any discrepancies of products delivered.

Deliver necessary packages and mail to the department it is intended for.

Assist in ensuring that all items are efficiently received in the loading area and checked against purchase order.

Maintain a clean and tidy receiving area.

Ensure that food and perishable items are delivered promptly to the appropriate departments daily.

Be flexible in assisting colleagues with tasks.

Assist with garbage removal from departmental areas to the dumpster bins.

Deliver and stock on-course F&B operations throughout the day.

Be available 40 hours a week during peak business hours.

Speak to guests and co-workers using clear, appropriate and professional language.

Talk with and listen to other employees to effectively exchange information.

This job requires the ability to stand and lift for long periods of time.
Shipping and Receiving

Secure the receiving area and its contents, ensuring safekeeping of packages.

Identify received product and delivery recipient and determine channeling and preference of distribution.

Communicate with proper management regarding any loss or damage with packages.

Receive departmental orders and deliver to the required area in a timely and efficient manner.
SKILLS, ABILITIES, ATTRIBUTES

Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (e.g., small print).

Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.

Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.

Be in good physical health.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
-
Prior experience in Shipping and Receiving an asset.

Ability to effectively communicate. Strong reading and writing comprehension skills are essential.
