About the Position
iMart is looking for a creative Social Media Content Creator and Video Editor to produce engaging short-form content for restaurants and food brands.
This person will film and edit restaurant content from start to finish. Content may be filmed using a smartphone or camera, depending on the concept.
Our priority is to achieve cinematic commercial production. We want authentic, energetic, social-first content that feels natural on Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
The ideal candidate understands social-proof content and knows how to feature restaurant owners, employees, chefs, customers, food preparation, reactions, and real experiences in a way that builds trust and attracts attention.
Responsibilities
Film vertical 9:16 content using a smartphone or camera.
Attend content shoots at restaurant locations across the GTA.
Follow the approved content brief, direction, and shot list.
Create strong hooks within the first two to three seconds.
Capture restaurant owners, employees, chefs, or approved customers speaking naturally on camera.
Film customer reactions, food tastings, testimonials, staff recommendations, and behind-the-scenes moments.
Capture food preparation, grilling, shawarma cutting, sandwich assembly, sauces, serving, and restaurant atmosphere.
Create POV, UGC-style, trending, promotional, educational, and social-proof videos.
Help staff or participating customers feel comfortable in front of the camera.
Direct simple actions and talking points during filming.
Review footage before leaving each location to ensure all required content has been captured.
Edit short-form videos using CapCut or Adobe Premiere Pro.
Create fast, clean cuts that maintain viewer attention.
Select suitable music and synchronize edits with the beat.
Add captions, text overlays, sound effects, quick transitions, and speed ramps when appropriate.
Perform basic colour correction and audio enhancement.
Organize footage, editing projects, and final exports.
Complete revisions based on feedback.
Deliver completed videos according to the assigned schedule.
Follow current restaurant, Instagram, and TikTok content trends.
Suggest creative ideas that match each restaurant’s identity and approved marketing direction.
Required Skills
Experience creating short-form content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, or YouTube Shorts.
Ability to film and edit content from start to finish.
Proficiency in CapCut or Adobe Premiere Pro.
Access to either a recent smartphone capable of recording high-quality video or a suitable camera.
Strong understanding of social-proof, UGC-style, and personality-driven content.
Good eye for food, framing, lighting, camera movement, and composition.
Strong sense of pacing, music selection, quick cuts, and visual storytelling.
Ability to create captions, speed ramps, sound effects, and engaging opening hooks.
Comfortable directing people who may not have on-camera experience.
Ability to follow an approved creative direction while suggesting additional ideas.
Reliable, organized, punctual, and able to meet deadlines.
Comfortable working in active restaurant environments.
Able to travel to restaurant locations across Mississauga and the GTA.
Available for occasional evening or weekend shoots.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience creating restaurant, café, food, or hospitality content.
Experience filming customer testimonials, reactions, interviews, or UGC-style videos.
Basic food-photography skills.
Access to reliable transportation.
Familiarity with microphones, LED lights, Lighting techniques, gimbals, or other mobile content equipment.
The Style We Want
We are looking for content that feels:
Authentic and natural.
Social-first rather than overly cinematic.
Fast-paced and attention-grabbing.
Focused on real people, food, and customer experience.
Suitable for daily restaurant marketing.
Similar to the content audiences naturally watch and share on Reels and TikTok.
We are not looking for someone who produces only cinematic food montages. Candidates must demonstrate an understanding of social media hooks, human interaction, social proof, and short-form storytelling.
Portfolio Requirement
A portfolio and Samples of Work is required.
Please submit three to five examples of vertical social media videos you personally filmed and edited. Restaurant, food, UGC, testimonial, or social-proof examples are strongly preferred.
For each example, please indicate:
Whether it was filmed using a smartphone or camera.
Whether you filmed it, edited it, or completed both.
Which editing software you used.
Applications without relevant video samples may not be considered.
