Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA) is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the
Community Mental Health and Addictions team, supporting the Early Psychosis Intervention (EPI) program and broader mental health and addictions education initiatives.
This role provides culturally safe, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented care to individuals, families and communities across the region. The position focuses on early identification and intervention for psychosis, while also strengthening community knowledge and capacity related to mental health and substance use.

Who You Are
- Demonstrated counselling skills and active listening ability
- Knowledge of First Nations health issues, including impacts of colonization and residential schools
- Ability to provide trauma-informed, cultural safe and harm reduction informed care
- Strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
- Organized, adaptable and able to manage competing priorities
- Demonstrated counselling skills and active listening ability
- Understanding of the Mental Health Act and relevant legislation
What You’ll Do
- Promote the well-being of individuals, families, and communities
- Provide comprehensive biopsychosocial, crisis, and mental health and substance use assessments
- Deliver ongoing case management, counselling, and therapeutic interventions with a primary focus on the Early Psychosis Intervention (EPI) program.
- Provide psychoeducation to individuals and families regarding mental health, substance use, and early psychosis
- Provide crisis response and ongoing clinical care
- Plan and deliver community-based workshops, outreach and group sessions relating to Mental Health and Substance Use
- Support community capacity-building and knowledge sharing
- Collaborate with internal programs and external service providers to support coordinated care
- Participate in case conferences, discharge planning, and team meetings
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation
- Complete required reporting, data collection, and statistical tracking
What Your Bring
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing required
- Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario and in good standing
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience in mental health and substance use services, preferably in a community or early intervention setting
- G or G2 Driver’s License
- Ability to communicate in the local native Cree language is an asset

Salary: $77,688.00 - $111,364.50
