We are looking for a hardworking, dependable and energetic individual with a good work ethic that can work safely and without supervision, to join our company.
Duties would include:
Review project specifications, architectural and structural drawings to determine scope requirements.
Perform quantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications to determine material quantities.
Liaise with material suppliers, contractors, clients and internal personnel as required for completing cost estimates.
Attend site visits and job walks required for tenders and RFP’s.
Perform project estimating, including managing site instructions and contemplated change orders.
Assist in monitoring project progress and performance through regular site visits, addressing issues and implementing solutions as required.
Organize and submit shop drawings, material submittals, samples and requests for information (RFI’s).
Upholding safety regulations, company policies and industry standards to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
Certification/education as a Civil Engineering Technologist (CET) preferred but not required.
Background in trades or field construction.
Strong understanding of construction methods, architectural drawings, structural drawings, materials and regulations in Nova Scotia.
Proficient in MS office and Procore.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and strong interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail and time management.
Ability to provide simultaneous support for needs across multiple projects in varying phases.
Individuals must have or be willing to obtain relevant safety training and hold a valid Class 5 Driver’s License. Individuals must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
