About the Role

As an Intermediate Accountant, you will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end processes, driving process improvements, and mentoring junior staff. You will report directly to the Controller.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements
Perform monthly bank, general ledger, and account reconciliations
Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation entries
Process cost transfers between projects
Prepare month-end journal entries and accruals
Support internal control improvements and process efficiencies
Provide training and mentorship to junior accounting staff
Cross-train on multiple accounting functions for vacation coverage
Handle ad-hoc projects and reporting as assigned by the Controller

Requirements:Education:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (preferred)

Experience:

Accounting: 3 years (preferred)
Construction industry experience: 3 years (preferred)

Language:

English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or actively working toward CPA (strongly preferred)

Skills & Competencies:

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, complex formulas, data analysis)
Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook)
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume transactions
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Knowledge of Explorer ERP is a significant asset

Salary will be based on experience and qualifications.
