About the role:
As General Manager, you will be responsible for the effective operational management of all Department Heads to achieve and exceed their revenue and Guest satisfaction targets.
The General Manager of this unionized property would have oversight of 5 Food and Beverage Outlets in addition to Rooms Division, Spa and Golf Course.
You will plan and supervise the activities of a diverse workforce to ensure the smooth and profitable running of the business.

What You’ll Do
- Managing service providers, comparing progress against contracts service expectations;
- Forging positive relationships with other team members, clients, owners, business partners & contractors;
- Undertaking proactive risk management;
- Training, directing the work of, resolving issues/problems and coaching and counselling the team, as a leader, to ensure a quality operation;
- Operating and managing Trust Accounts;
- Handling day-to-day management of the property in a hands-on capacity;
- Managing key property issues (including capital projects; customer service; Schedules, Overtime, refurbishment.);
- Directing recruitment, training and development of a team of staff, including department heads;
- Seeking and responding to guest feedback in order to achieve positive outcomes and high levels of customer satisfaction;
- Holding regular briefings and communication meetings with the management team;
- Planning of operations, functions, conferences and providing quotations to groups;
- Communicating with and directing team members in a clear and concise manner;
- Pro-actively managing the scheduled maintenance program;
- Being on call for emergencies;
- Inspecting common areas, facilities, plant, and equipment;
- Be responsible for management of property accounts;
- Be responsible for marketing and promotions of the property;
- General administration duties;
- General business development;
- Other duties as required to ensure the smooth operation of the property
What You Need to Have
- Previous Full-Service Hotel/Resort General Manager Experience is required;
- A degree or diploma in hotel management or equivalent;
- Strong commercial acumen, preferably with experience in Food and Beverage or Rooms Management;
- Experience in managing budgets, revenue proposals and forecasting results. · Exceptional computer skills.

Experience:
- General Manager 4 Diamond Full Service Hotel: 7 years (preferred)
- Union: 3 years (preferred)
- working in properties over 300 rooms: 5 years (preferred)
- Revenue Management: 5 years (preferred)
- Business planning: 10 years (preferred)
- capital expenditure project: 5 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Drivers Licence (preferred)
- Canadian Work Permit for the next 3 years (required)
