CarePros specializes in Trauma-Informed Personalized Community Care and Agency Foster Care for children and youth with complex medical and behavioural needs. Our mission? Empowering youths through cultural connection, family reunification, and transition into adulthood.

Are you ready to take your career one step closer towards Program Supervision? We are looking for a Lead Child and Youth Care Worker in Red Deer, to set up youths for success after their time with CarePros by nurturing their physical, social, cultural, and emotional well-being. As your Program Supervisor's right hand, you'll exemplify our core values in everything you do. By showcasing your direct care, crisis management, and documentation skills, you'll set the gold standard for all CYCWs.

Work Schedule Rotation: 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, six days on three days off.

Your Day to Day

Provide daily updates to Program Supervisor and Manager.
Report critical incidents to Program Supervisor.
Support your youths in planning and reaching goals.
Maintain daily activities, observations, and direct hours of service records.
Compile data for Case Team meetings/stakeholder reporting to submit to Program Supervisor.
Support program planning (recreation, life skills, cultural and community connections).
Attend legal appointments and required follow-up.
Support the ongoing development of care plans.
Audit first aid supplies monthly and submit inventory list to Program Supervisor.
Create menus, track inventory, and maintain weekly shopping/grocery lists.
Build relationships with your youths to guide and support them through mentorship, role modelling, and positive reinforcement.
Facilitate and coordinate school, employment, and volunteering activities.
Book and attend medical appointments (dental, optical, and psychiatry).

What You Bring To The Table

Minimum one year verifiable experience working directly with youth that have complex behavioural and mental health needs.
In-depth knowledge of child and youth care mental wellness and home care best practices.
Flawless execution of documentation requirements for maintaining records and completing forms.
Unmatched written and verbal communication skills.
Completion of a post secondary degree or diploma in Child and Youth Care or Social Work (preferred).

Compliance Regulated Requirements

Own a reliable four-door vehicle to transport individual(s) in care.
An active Alberta Class 5 Driver's License.
A clear Alberta 3-year Driver's Abstract (10 years driving experience is not required).
A current Standard/Intermediate First Aid + AED with CPR Level C (Canadian Provider in person, or blended).
$2 Million Alberta Auto Insurance Liability coverage.
Clear Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check obtained in last six months.
Clear Intervention Record Check obtained from Children Services in last six months.

Physical Regulated Requirements

Walk and stand for extended periods, including long distances.
Bend, kneel, crouch, and maintain balance to prevent falls.
Work in varied environments, including outdoor and seasonal conditions.
Lift, push, or pull up to 10 pounds. Occasionally reach overhead and outward.
Perform fine motor tasks (typing, grasping, holding) and repetitive movements.
Communicate verbally and maintain physical stamina for both short and long durations.
