Position Title: Behaviour Intervener / Child Care Worker
Position Type: Part-time Permanent (10 - 15 hours per week)

Posting Summary
As a Behaviour Intervener / Child Care Worker, you play an essential role in creating positive change for children and youth with autism, developmental disabilities, behavioural challenges, and emotional disorders. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will implement individualized therapeutic programs that help clients develop skills, achieve meaningful goals, and improve their quality of life.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized one-to-one therapeutic programs developed by Behaviour Consultants, Counsellors, and other Lead Professionals.
- Provide direct support to children and youth in client homes, community settings, and other approved environments.
- Build positive, therapeutic relationships while promoting skill development, independence, and positive behaviour.
- Collect accurate behavioural data and complete detailed session notes following each shift.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including Behaviour Consultants, Counsellors, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, and Program Assistants.
- Participate in ongoing communication with supervisors and clinical team members regarding client progress.
- Support clients in achieving individualized treatment goals through consistent implementation of behaviour intervention strategies.
- Maintain accurate documentation using digital systems in a paperless work environment.
- Follow organizational policies, treatment plans, and safety procedures at all times.
- Utilize de-escalation techniques and maintain a safe environment while supporting clients who maydisplay challenging behaviours.
- Represent the organization professionally within the community.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum six (6) months of experience supporting children or youth with autism, developmental disabilities, behavioural challenges, or other diverse support needs.
- Post-secondary education in a related field is preferred, including:
- Applied Behaviour Analysis
- Disability Studies
- Child and Youth Care
- Special Education Assistant
- Early Childhood Education
- Psychology
- Social Work
- Community Support Worker
- Or another related discipline.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and documentation skills.
- Basic computer skills with the ability to complete electronic documentation.
- Daily internet access.
- Willingness to learn, grow professionally, and participate in ongoing training.
- Ability to establish healthy boundaries with compassion and consistency.
- Dependable, reliable, and committed to providing consistent support.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a clean driver's abstract.
- Reliable vehicle with the ability to travel throughout the region.
- Current Emergency First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- MANDT, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, or similar behavioural safety training is considered an asset.
- Successful Criminal Record Check.

- Work is completed primarily in client homes and community settings throughout Northern BC andPrince George.
- Staff may be required to complete documentation remotely using electronic systems.
- Flexibility to support clients in a variety of community environments.
- Ability to work with clients who may exhibit challenging behaviours while following established safety protocols and de-escalation strategies.
