Reporting to the Mine Engineering Superintendent, you will be part of the Macassa Mine Technical Services Department. You will be accountable for the performance and deliverables of the Mine Planning and Mine Survey departments. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Implementation of organization changes within the Mine Planning and Survey teams as needed for business success;
- Set milestones for team and ensure these are; achieved in a timely fashion;
- Oversee team development and mentorship • Be personally involved with the teams;
- Assist with annual mine site budget, monthly/quarterly reporting, and forecasts; General Supervisor Mine Planning;
- Establish, optimize, execute and monitor short-term and long-term plans to support operations for Macassa Conduct thorough cost analysis by comparing actual cost metrics to forecast and budget, and scrutinize variances to identify trends and discrepancies;
- Liaise with Mine and Maintenance teams in regard to performance issues;
- Changes in mining method, equipment and organization;
- Identify and drive resolution of underlying production bottlenecks;
- Work with stakeholders to evaluate the capacity of our underground infrastructure in supporting our mid to longer term production objectives;
- Compressed air;
- Electrical;
- Communication backbone;
- Dewatering;
- Assist with Mine Annual Strategy and Technical Services Strategy;
- Implement systems, processes, and procedures for mining operations, focusing on continuous improvement and efficiency.
- Proven experience in managing technical teams and projects, demonstrating leadership capabilities and the ability to motivate and guide team members effectively;
- Strong background in technical services or a related field, with expertise in underground hard rock mining;
- Exceptional analytical skills, including the ability to conduct thorough cost analysis, compare actual cost metrics to forecasts and budgets, and understand variances;
- Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical issues and implementing innovative solutions;
- Demonstrate proficiency in problem-solving and decision making, with a track record of resolving complex technical issues and implementing innovative solutions;
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
- A proactive and collaborative approach to work, with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development;
- Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or geology, or equivalent work experience; additional certification’s such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or MBA (Masters in Business Administration) are considered an asset;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
WORK SCHEDULE:
- 4/3 schedule at our Macassa Mine Site, located in Kirkland Lake, ON.
Compensation Statement
In accordance with applicable legislation, the expected compensation includes base salary and potential bonus opportunity. Your individual pay will reflect your skills and experience while remaining competitive within the local market.
Minimum Salary : $135,000CAD Maximum Salary : $178,000CAD
