Responsibilities

You are required to work with minimal supervision in all phases of the operation of a Multi-use Facility. The incumbent will be required to assess work priorities and carry out duties with minimal supervision.

Duties included but not limited to:

Building/equipment maintenance, customer service and janitorial duties.
Ice making and maintenance.
Direct and coordinate part-time employees.
Event set-up/conversions - Kitchener Auditorium Complex.
Maintains sports fields in the summer, including cutting grass, line trimming, general litter clean-up.

Education

Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.

Experience

12 months experience working in an artificial ice arena.

Additional Requirements

Attend and successfully complete emergency first-aid training.
Valid "G" class driver's license in good standing.
Valid TSSA Refrigeration Operator B certificate.
Successfully complete required progression criteria as it relates to this position (CUPE 68).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Successfully complete required progression criteria as it relates to this position (CUPE 68).
Be flexible to work varying shifts, WEEKENDS, HOLIDAYS, and overtime as required.
Have demonstrated communication skills with a customer service focus.
Be able to keep accurate records and logs for facility incidents and equipment.
Be prepared to be trained in the operation of all related equipment and work skills
Be a team player.
Be willing to attend mandatory staff training sessions and successfully pass the course requirements.
Have the ability to support and project values compatible with the organization.
Have or be able to obtain computer competency in ActiveNet, Building Controls and Outlook, as well as basic Microsoft Office.
Be reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
