Full Time – Crew Support and Equipment Operator

Role

The role of this position is to provide support to the construction and paving operations of the job and the team through the operation of a power paver, skid steer, roller, packer and general labour on hand tools. This role provides competitive industry wages in the range of $28 to $34 based on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities and Duties

Perform all duties assigned by Manager and Foreman
Team Support: Asphalt raking & compaction, concrete forming &finishing
Operate equipment for roadwork construction at various jobsites
Manage project timelines and ensure timely completion of tasks.
Follow detailed instructions and ensure team compliance.
Interpret and understand construction drawings and plans.
Operate and maintain construction equipment, including laser levels and grading tools.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
Communicate effectively with team members, clients and management.
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise on-site.
Maintain accurate records of project progress and materials used.

Qualifications and Skills

Valid Ontario Class G2 Driver's License or better with a clean driver abstract
Experience on a construction crew
A willingness to learn construction skills and the road building trade
Experience operating construction equipment
Strong problem solving skills and communication to resolve and troubleshoot
Ability to work in a cohesive team
Training provided.
Reliable transportation to and from the yard which is not on a bus route.
