About the Role

Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the HR + Payroll Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the delivery of human resources and payroll services across the organization. This position is responsible for coordinating a broad range of HR initiatives and programs while ensuring the accurate and timely administration of payroll. The HR + Payroll Coordinator supports recruitment and onboarding activities, employee engagement initiatives, policy development, performance management processes, and HR projects that strengthen organizational effectiveness. The role also provides critical payroll administration services, maintaining employee records, processing payroll, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, and supporting employees with payroll-related inquiries.

This opportunity is ideal for a collaborative and detail-oriented HR professional who enjoys balancing strategic projects with day-to-day operational responsibilities. The successful candidate will bring strong knowledge of human resources practices, payroll administration, employment legislation, and data management, along with the ability to build trusted relationships throughout the organization. The preferred candidate will possess a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline, supplemented by five (5) to seven (7) years of progressive HR experience that includes payroll administration. Experience working within a First Nation government, Indigenous organization, or community-focused environment will be considered a strong asset. Professional designations such as CPHR or PCP are desirable. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, sound judgment, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to providing responsive and professional service. A valid BC Driver’s Licence and satisfactory completion of a criminal record check are required.

The salary for this role is $30.35-35.71 per hour (with potential flexibility for candidates whose experience and qualifications exceed the core requirements.
