About Brucejack
Our Brucejack Gold Mine, a high-grade underground mine in beautiful northern British Columbia, is located approximately 65 kilometres north of Stewart. Brucejack is a fly-in/fly-out operation with pick-up points across Western Canada, making it easy for people from different places to join us. We work closely with local First Nations communities including the Nisga’a, Tahltan, Gitanyow, and Gitxsan, to build respectful partnerships and celebrate our shared community.

As an Apprentice, Heavy Duty Mechanic Underground , you will play a key role in maintaining and servicing heavy equipment and power generation systems at the Brucejack Mine site. Your work will ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently to support critical site operations.
- Work under the guidance of qualified Journeyman Mechanics to service and repair heavy equipment.

Perform preventive maintenance on mobile equipment, generators, and fixed machinery.

Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical issues using specialized tools and testing equipment.

Adjust and replace defective parts or components to restore equipment functionality.

Test repaired equipment to meet manufacturer specifications and operational standards.

Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance to maximize equipment lifespan.

Assist in servicing attachments and working tools such as blades, winches, and plows.

Follow all safety protocols and ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Participate in ongoing training and development programs.

Ensure compliance with all relevant Newmont Health & Safety procedures and other relevant policies.
- Basic mechanical knowledge in automotive, heavy-duty equipment, or power generation.

Strong willingness to learn and develop skills in power generation maintenance and operations.

Experience with heavy-duty machinery, power generation, or underground equipment is an asset.

Valid driver’s license for site vehicles.

WHMIS and TDG certifications (or willingness to obtain).

The expected salary range for this role is CA$38.01/hr (1st year) - $44.35/hr (2nd year) - $50.68/hr (3rd year) - $57.01/hr (4th year) . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.
