Full job description

Part-Time Kitchen Help

Chillabongs Bar and Grill is currently seeking an experienced and dependable individual to join our kitchen team on a permanent part-time basis. There is potential for full-time employment in the future for the right candidate.

We operate a fast-paced pub and sports bar kitchen and are looking for someone who is comfortable working under pressure, communicates well with coworkers, and takes pride in maintaining consistent food quality and a clean, organized workspace.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items according to restaurant standards
Cook steaks and other proteins to requested temperatures and doneness
Maintain and restock kitchen stations throughout the shift
Complete assigned daily and weekly cleaning duties
Assist coworkers with immediate needs during busy service periods
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Learn and work a variety of shifts, including opening, midshift, and closing shifts

Qualifications

must be 18 years or older
Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar restaurant, pub, or commercial kitchen environment
Experience cooking steaks and other proteins to requested doneness
Ability to multitask and remain organized during high-volume service
Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team
Comfortable working in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
Willingness to learn different stations and responsibilities
References must be available
Open availability is preferred, with particular need for weekend evening availability

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods
Ability to safely lift and carry 20 pounds or more
Ability to perform the physical duties associated with working in a commercial kitchen

Compensation and Benefits

Starting wage: $15.00 per hour
Tips paid biweekly
Complimentary meal during each shift
Full coverage benefits available after successful completion of the probationary period
Permanent part-time position with the possibility of full-time employment in the future

We are looking for someone who can become a dependable member of our kitchen team and contribute to maintaining a consistent, efficient, and professional working environment.

Pay: $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 30.0 per week
