About the position:

Under the supervision of the Program Supervisor and in conjunction with the program team, the Youth Worker is responsible for overseeing a youth who is transitioning to adulthood in the next couple years. Generally, the Youth Worker is responsible for overall case management and case co-ordination activities of their youth, within the parameters of the program. The Youth Worker may also be responsible for delivering basic care, competency development, recreational services to the youth in the program. The Youth Worker in this position is comfortable addressing mental health and addiction concerns.

We are looking for a* Part-Time Overnight Awake Youth Worker for our Personalized Community Care Programs in Lethbridge.*

Schedule: Sunday to Wednesday, 11pm-7am.

Here is how you will contribute as a Youth Worker:

Establish helping relationships with youth and their support networks.
Support the team environment.
Create positive interactions to enhance adaptive functioning, social skills, recreational opportunities, self-regulation skills, life-skills, and connection to the community for youth with significant disabilities.
Demonstrate knowledge of a wide range of intervention resources and methods.
Provide youth with guidance to assist them in addressing problem situations and/or behaviors.

Here’s what we have to offer:

Hourly range: $21.86-25.61 per hour (based on your education and experience), plus a $3.00/hour shift differential for hours worked between 11pm and 7am.

Here’s what you need to get an interview:

Child & Youth Care Diploma, Social Work, Criminal Justice diploma/degree, or degree a similar human services field.
Six months’ experience in family and youth work; two years’ experience preferred.
Six months’ experience working with high-risk youth.
Strong counselling, program planning, organizational and communication skills.
Experience in building relationships with community resources. 
Knowledge of existing community resources and understanding of issues related to youth, including mental health and addictions. 
Strong documentation and assessment skills. 
Strong computer skills (MS Office)
Current Standard First Aid CPR Level C Certificate or CSA Standard Z1210-17 Intermediate First Aid Certificate
Clear Child Intervention Record Check, dated within the past six months.
Clear Police Information Check with vulnerable sector dated within past six months.
A valid Canadian Class 5 Driver’s License with 3 years of driving experience, Driver’s Abstract, and use of reliable vehicle with $2M Third Party Liability insurance.
