Full job description

A well-established agricultural co-operative with deep roots in Southern Alberta’s farming community. Based on the west side of Lethbridge, we provide financial and administrative services to support producers across the region.

Job Overview

We are recruiting a detail-oriented and proactive Records/Accounting Technician-, Beginner to Intermediate level.

This is a great opportunity for someone who has meticulous attention to detail, enjoys working with numbers, staying organized, and being part of a team that values accuracy, professionalism, and agricultural sustainability.

This position is fast-paced throughout the fall, slows down through winter and into summer. The ideal candidate will understand the seasonality and be willing to commit to additional hours in the fall months.

Key Responsibilities

· Assist with membership applications and gather required documentation

· Perform financial functions such as corporate searches, reviewing personal property search records, preparing and sending Purchase Money Security Interest and registering/discharging security as needed.

· Set up bank payments with supporting documentation for approver review

· Deposit cheques into the bank and check for EFTs received daily

· Email finalized loan documents, remittances and monthly statements to members

· Maintain organized financial and administrative records, both digital and physical

· Assist with month-end financial close procedures

· Support Administrator during audits and inspections

· Use Excel for sorting data and preparing pivot tables and other related reports.

· Perform general office administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, responding to phone, email inquiries, and other administrative items as requested.

· Support the team to ensure smooth daily office operations

· Potential room to grow into more advanced accounting tasks

What You’ll Bring

· Post-secondary education in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field

· Experience as a bookkeeper or administrative assistant in a professional office setting

· Priority given to those with proficiency in Sage 300 accounting software and strong Excel skills

· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

· Strong organizational and time-management skills

· Effective written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative office team

· Familiarity with agriculture or co-operative business models is a strong asset
