Why this role is important?
As a Talent Acquisition Specialist (TAS) for Shoppers Drug Mart, you are responsible for attracting critical pharmacy talent for stores in your region (Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Northwest Ontario). You will act as a strategic partner to provide expert guidance and recommendations on talent attraction strategies in a highly competitive talent market. In this role, you will continually partner with Associate Owners, District Managers and other leaders to develop and implement recruitment strategies as well as represent Shoppers Drug Mart at recruitment events throughout your designated region.
In addition, the TAS will support store openings and Associate Owner selection in their region as well as support new capital store staffing.
Talent Attraction - You will identify and apply creative sourcing strategies to attract top pharmacy talent for Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacies. You will develop cost effective, efficient, proactive, and innovative solutions to meet your Associate Owners’ recruiting needs.
Campus Recruitment - You will support campus recruitment strategies at University of Saskatchewan and University of Manitoba to attract pharmacy students, by collaborating with student associations, planning and leading campus events, and developing pipelines for pharmacy students. In addition, you will support pharmacy students and Associate Owners build a strong talent bench through the Shoppers Drug Mart Scholarship Program.
International Hiring - You will manage international recruitment efforts, including candidate sourcing, assessment, and coordination with immigration and licensing partners, to support hiring in hard-to-fill roles.
Proven experience identifying passive candidates through their understanding of talent sourcing techniques beyond using tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter and Indeed. Experience with strong direct sourcing (headhunting, cold calling, in person).
