Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Janitor/Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our facilities. This essential role involves performing a variety of cleaning tasks to ensure all areas are sanitary, organized, and well-maintained. The ideal candidate will bring energy to their work, demonstrate a strong work ethic, and take pride in creating a hygienic space for staff and visitors alike. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop custodial skills while contributing to a positive environment.

Responsibilities

Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming floors throughout the facility.
Clean windows using appropriate tools such as squeegees and pressure washers to ensure clear visibility and aesthetic appeal.
Handle chemical cleaning agents safely in accordance with safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Maintain sanitation standards by disinfecting high-touch surfaces, restrooms, kitchens, and common areas regularly.
Operate cleaning equipment including floor buffers, pressure washers, and laundry machines with proper manual handling techniques.
Manage waste disposal efficiently by emptying trash bins and recycling containers in compliance with environmental policies.
Support infection control procedures by adhering to health guidelines and ensuring proper sanitation practices are followed.

Qualifications

Previous janitorial or custodial experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
Knowledge of cleaning techniques such as window cleaning, floor care, and sanitation procedures.
Ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely while following safety protocols and using PPE effectively.
Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, manual handling tasks, and stand or walk for extended periods.
Familiarity with commercial cleaning equipment including pressure washers and floor care machines is advantageous.
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to ensure thorough cleanliness across all areas.
Good communication skills with a positive attitude towards customer service when interacting with staff or visitors.
